Piotr Motyka

PIOTR MOTYKA is born in 2000 RADOM POLAND. He attends Oskar Kolberg’s School of Music Complex in Radom. He’s been learning to play the accordion for seven years under the guidance of Artur Miedziński, M.A. The secondary instrument he’s learning to play is the piano. In August 2015 he played his first concert tour of Australia at the invitation of the Consulate General of the Polish Republic. He gave concerts in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. He performed solo concerts and with “ Accordions For World“. A multiple prizewinner of many prestigious national and international events – so far he has won first prize in twenty of them.
Some of his most recent achievements are as follows:
Main Award in the category of students secondary music schools divided in half between the winner and his teacher at the XI Music Competition XX and XXI Century for Young Performers, Radziejowice 20.05.2016r.
First prize for „Accordions for the World“ in the category OPEN occupational „XII WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL Innsbruck 2016“. The highest score of the festival: 49.50 / 50
Second prize (category soloists) at the XIX International Accordion Meetings in Sanok, 21-24.04.2016r.
First prize at the National Accordion Competition „Motion Music Festival“ Czasław-Wieliczka with the „Accordions for the World“ in the category of teams, 14-16.04.2016r.

In spite of already possessing undeniable skill and talent, Piotr frequently participates in a number of master classes, meetings with leading Polish and foreign academic music teachers as well as with leading Polish and foreign accordion virtuosos, continually developing and perfecting his musical craft. In 2014 he recorded his first solo album containing classical repertoire, received very well by the accordion music experts. His repertoire includes musical pieces by the following composers: J.S.Bach,F.Chopin, A.Piazzola, D. Cimarosa, W. Siemionow, S. Pawin, Na Yun Kin, M. Zimka, G. Miszczyszyn, L.Couperin, R. Galliano, K. Olczak, A. Surkov, A. Astier, B Precz, W. Zołotariew, Ł.Woś, S. Pawin, R. Schumann, I. Panicki, E.Derbienko, W.Dikusarow, B.Mokrosow, A.Bielajew and Rochlin, together with several tangos, waltzes and some of the most famous pieces of film, popular and early music played solo or with his band.
